The Quicksilver Mail pub is situated in Yeovil, Somerset.

RE-OPENING MONDAY 17TH MAY 2021 - Book a table now!

We wish all our customers a very Happy New Year and Thank you for supporting us through a very strange year for everyone. Sadly we have once again had to close our doors due to the New Year lockdown but we are hoping to reopen on Monday 17th March at 12pm. We really look forward to opening our doors and welcoming our customers back once we can open the inisde and outside of the restuarant and the pub. We are already getting booked up so please contact us via email or messenger to book your table now. Unfortunately we will not be offering a take away service during this national lockdown.

We are already planning a big celebration once these dark days are over and we look forward to bringing you are great entertain with our great live music nights and hilarious comedy shows once again soon. So keep an eye on this page and our face book page for more information when bigger gatherings are allowed once again and restrictions are eased.

We very much appreciate all the sacrifices that our NHS staff have made during the last year so as a thank you we will give all NHS staff with a blue light card 10% off the food bill for the foreseeable future once we are allowed to reopen.

We really are a "proper pub" as one of our customers puts it. We are in fact the only pub in the country named The Quicksilver Mail, which makes us pretty unique!

We have had to adapt to a new way of working to keep our customers and staff safe during this difficult time. When you visit us - You will notice a few changes at the moment. We require all visitors to provide contact details for the track and trace scheme either via the app or by filling in our track and trace form. We recommend booking a table if you want to eat with us or even if you just want a drink as currently to meet government regulations we will be providing table service only and have limited capacity and have removed tables to allow social distancing. Under current restrictions - The guidelines state that only a maximum of 6 people are allowed per table/booking. You will also now be required to wear face coverings when entering and leaving the pub along with visiting our toilet facilities. You will not have to wear a face covering when seated at your table.

We would kindly ask you to adhere to our one system around the pub and use the hand sanitiser provided as entering the premises. Our menus are currently limited but have the same wonderful homemade specials and attention to detail that we always have.

Our staff have been fully trained in our new way of keeping our customers safe and healthy and we will work hard - in ensuring we clean and sanitise all areas at regular intervals and limit staff and customer contact. Unfortunately at present we cannot allow people to stand at the bar or around the bar area to ensure the safety of our customers. At busy times there maybe small delays to allow us to make sure our standards are kept and we meet all the government guidelines. We have lots of information displayed around the pub to explain all the new procedures in place. When you arrive at the pub you will be greeted by a team member who will help you to your table and assist you with our new way of opening and answer any questions or concerns you may have. We are still taking cash payments but would prefer customers to use contactless payments where ever possible.

Our "Grumpy Landlord" Pete Lambden took over The Quicksilver Mail in 2002 and in those 18 years he has transformed the whole place. We have some fantastic real ales, lagers and ciders, as well as an entry in the "Good Beer Guide 2020" - that is 10 out of the last 11 years that The Quickie has appeared in the Beer drinkers Bible.

Our wonderful home cooked food is complimented by a selection of reasonably priced wines. We also have on sale a selection of coffees in the form of lattes, mochas and cappuccinos. Have a look around our website and see what we have to offer.

We have some fabulous music here at The Quicksilver Mail from local rock cover bands and comedy performers to internationally acclaimed musicians and entertainment. Our function room can accommodate up to 200 people and is available for hire for parties, weddings, conferences, meetings, etc; in fact, any kind of get together can be catered for. Hopefully all of our great nights out and entertainment can safely resume at some point soon. So again keep an eye out for updates.

There is a FREE WiFi connection for everyone who comes to The Quicksilver Mail and dogs are also welcome in our main bar, patio area and beer garden So we hope to see you here soon.

We pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service and helping our customers as much as we can - just check out our recent Facebook and TripAdvisor reviews, which we are very proud of. If you have any dietary needs, would like some help making your event or night out with us a special one, have any suggestions or requirements we can help you with just ask!
